This blog describes the flight of a cell phone attached to some helium balloons.
It left Chicago at 7:30PM on Wednesday June 3rd, and arrived in Nova Scotia about 24 hours later. It appears to have not had a good signal for most of the flight, but was able to report it's path and coordinates once it landed.
Currently it is in some trees, likely killed during a rain shower the morning of Saturday 6/6/2009. It might dry off or wake up, but it seems a bit unlikely.
The ground?
ReplyDeletesunrise was 5:30 AM... picture was 5:05/5:06... dunno.
ReplyDeleteI am concerned that it got rained on. It's been almost 5 hours and it "forgot" to spit a picture at 7:24?? Hmm.
Ervin Olsen, a geocacher in the area, will be around there tomorrow and will check it out.
ReplyDeleteYou know, it "could have" blown free. Wishful thinking.
ReplyDeletemay try to team up with ervin to find this as it is very remote
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think that is how the sun looks like when you get too close to it ;)
