This blog describes the flight of a cell phone attached to some helium balloons.
It left Chicago at 7:30PM on Wednesday June 3rd, and arrived in Nova Scotia about 24 hours later. It appears to have not had a good signal for most of the flight, but was able to report it's path and coordinates once it landed.
Currently it is in some trees, likely killed during a rain shower the morning of Saturday 6/6/2009. It might dry off or wake up, but it seems a bit unlikely.
Not a goos sign...
ReplyDeleteWhere does the altitude that Icharus reports come from? GPS? Google Earth reports that this location is about 130ft, there Icharus cratered! But that's not what the pictures show.
ReplyDeleteIt's AGPS, so take it with a grain of salt.
